Performance musicale de Gérald Kurdian (FR)

How are our bodies revolutionary? This is what Gérald Kurdian proposes to explore in his solo Hot Bodies – Stand Up, a musical, documentary sometimes auto-fictional performance that draws on stand-up comedy vocabulary but also classic feminist theory such as Donna Haraway, Annie Sprinkle, Starhawk and Paul B. Preciado. Here, for a short while, the queer, the magical and the ecological meet the poetic, the fragmented, the empowered and the critical.

Dean Hutton (ZA), 30-45'

Dean Hutton is an artist whose work is often deemed disturbing and hotly debated, putting their “Fat Queer White Trans Body” at the heart of their art.

In “Breathe. Goldendean”, the artist presents themselves in the nude entirely covered in golden glitter like a golden calf, an idol representing everything that has been (as still is) pillaged. In response to the violence, they have invented a soft practice for the inclusion of all bodies. Here is a subtle, powerful and magical work of art around the gaze, subjectivity and power.

Dean Hutton will also present “Plan B” on Friday and Saturday (8 pm).

With this first feature film, Rosario Gallardo once again gives us an ode to absolute sexual freedom and pleasure. Rosario and the gang will come to the festival, in their camper van!

Hot Bodies Stand Up
H: 18:30–19:30

Performance musicale de Gérald Kurdian (FR)

How are our bodies revolutionary? This is what Gérald Kurdian proposes to explore in his solo Hot Bodies – Stand Up, a musical, documentary sometimes auto-fictional performance that draws on stand-up comedy vocabulary but also classic feminist theory such as Donna Haraway, Annie Sprinkle, Starhawk and Paul B. Preciado. Here, for a short while, the queer, the magical and the ecological meet the poetic, the fragmented, the empowered and the critical.

Oscillating between attraction and repulsion, his gaze plunges into this sometimes good-natured hyper utilitarian world that capitalises on the liberation of bodies.

In the same way, Mad Kate explores various aspects of her identity and the different roles that her body assumes. Questioning both political borders and gendered boundaries, she shows how her body is a sexual body, a parental body, a performing body and a performative body.

After doing her first steps in classical music, punk and folk, and then maintaining her pace within the noise movement, punk and folk, she’s evolved to a style which stings our eardrums and drags our ears under a catwalk of drilling machines in slow motion and then propels them in tunnel swamped with steaming magma. A sensorial canopy within which one feels like a spasming marshmallow.
